This is a Christmas cookie recipe that I have made since a kid. The almond flavoring makes these cookies the best holiday cookie recipe that you will ever make.

Ingredients

1 cups shorting (butter works best)
³⁄₄ cups sugar
1 egg
2 tsp almond extract
¹⁄₄ tsp baking powder
¹⁄₄ tsp salt
2 ¹⁄₄ cups flour

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugar well.
Bet in eggs and almond extract.
Gradually blend dry ingredients.
Bake for 8 1/2 minutes at 375 degrees.
